RALEIGH PROFESSIONAL

These are photos of the 22 1/2-inch Raleigh Professional that I acquired in Puerto Vallata, Mexico. Based on its serial number, appearance and installed gear I believe it is a 1978 Mark V, however I will defer to the vintage Raleigh experts for a final verdict. The first three letters of the serial number are 'WP8'. I would appreciate any insights, thoughts, guidance, etc. You can send email to kavenga at-sign att dot net.

The photos below were taken the day I brought the bike home in its "as-is" condition. I'm not sure how long since it had last been ridden. I bought it from someone that had inherited it from a friend and had no use for it. It came with two sets of rims and tires, one sewn-in, the other, clinchers.

And finally, here it is just after I put the clinchers on for the first time. I have subsequently ridden it and it rides fine. I put a new saddle on (after spinning the post around), replaced the chain and added a bottle cage. I think maybe the brake levers need to be moved down the bars just a little.
